I'm Courtney.
Problem solver first, designer second.
At the moment, I happen to problem solve through design, but I am always willing to learn new and different ways to approach a problem. I’ve had the chance to design products in unique spaces such as cryptocurrency and public safety. The subject matter doesn’t matter since the practice is the same- ask questions, be curious, and work with intention and purpose.
My design beliefs
Functionality over aesthetics
Most of my work has been in B2B, where products don’t have to look “sexy.” They just have to work. I care more about clarity and usability; good visuals can elevate the experience, but they aren’t the priority.
Research drives direction
Research prompts action. Any type of research (detailed user interviews or high level competitive analysis) can help you identify real problems and areas of improvement.
Think deeper on solving problems that matter
A product can be beautifully designed, but if it’s not solving a real problem, it won’t have impact. With AI making it easier than ever to build, we have to be more thoughtful in discerning what’s worth solving.
